W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Program Manager


Working as part of a program team, the Program Manager will perform research and analysis, provide technical support, manage grant operations and liaise with internal and external partners, specifically:
  • Support program management efforts in collaboration with senior programming staff to co-develop program plans and strategies.
  • Conduct, analyze, summarize and share research; includes data collection, literature reviews, environmental scans related to areas of strategic interest to WKKF, identification of key trends and patterns, and creation of graphic displays utilizing appropriate technology to illustrate key findings.
  • Provide appropriate technical support to grantees and senior programming staff in the development, implementation, and learning associated with all aspects of programming efforts.
  • Monitor, receive, and respond to programming proposals, requests, and contracts. Provide first-level review of funding requests.
  • Assist with preparation and editing of funding documents, as appropriate.
  • Monitor overall grant status for assigned programming area and initiate appropriate action(s) to ensure timely, accurate and thorough processing, including intervening as necessary with grantees, consultants or other partners.
  • Oversee electronic processing of grant information, providing authorizations as appropriate, to facilitate the flow of work.
  • Ensure grants are brought to a timely and quality close.
  • Work with Program Services to negotiate and manage vendor contracts, as appropriate, including communicating expectations, monitoring progress, and ensuring accountability for value-added outcomes,
  • Partner closely with Organizational Services on content development and overall coordination of networking meetings, symposiums, and other group functions.
  • Act as liaison with other programming teams to assist with program alignment and aggregated learning opportunities.
  • Carry out special and administrative projects and duties as assigned.


ROLE SPECIFICATIONS Education/Experience
  • Master’s degree in field relevant to assigned area desired, or bachelor’s degree with three or more years’ significant relevant experience.
  • Experience working effectively with persons from diverse cultural, social, and ethnic backgrounds.

  • Ability to conduct research and access networks and key informants using internal and external sources of data, information, and analysis; technical knowledge of relevant research resources, methods, and tools.
  • Strong analytical skills. Ability to identify trends and patterns and communicate data interpretations and findings. Critical thinking/cognitive problem-solving, discernment, and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate concepts, research findings, issues analysis, project and evaluation results, and data interpretations.
  • Strong project management, organizational and administrative coupled with attention to detail.
  • Excellent technology skills (ENCOMPASS, SAP, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
