Community Health Internship Opportunity Available for Summer-Fall 2010

The Filipino American Community Health Initiative of Chicago (FACHIC) is a collaborative of community, health professional, and academic leaders united to address Filipino health issues in the Chicago area. The mission of FACHIC is to increase awareness of Filipino health disparities and to implement health interventions and educational programming to improve the health status of the Filipino community.


FACHIC is seeking one student intern to work with the FACHIC volunteer research staff in data analysis and validation of the Filipino American Senior Health Assessment (FASHA) research project results. Intern will also assist in planning the Filipino Community Health Forum, an open townhall meeting for the Filipino American community in October 2010.

Ideal students will have knowledge or background in:
  • Epidemiology/Biostatistics
  • Community Health
Experience working with the Filipino and/or Asian community is a plus.

This is a non-paid position which provides valuable experience and is available immediately.
