At the University of Chicago Office of Multicultural Student Affairs, we want students to have access to academic and cultural resources, but to also have opportunities independent of the classroom and student life. Thus, the following is a list of opportunities where students can go to search for funding, enrich their summers or find work after graduation.

CLIR Annual Fellowships & Awards

Awards about 15 fellowships each year for dissertation research in the humanities in original sources. Complete applications must be submitted using CLIR's online application form no later than 5:00 p.m. Eastern time on Monday, November 15, 2010.
Fellowship awards will be announced on April 1, 2011. Fellowship tenure will begin between June 1 and September 1, 2011, and end within 12 months of commencing.
Provides all expenses for a student of library and information science to attend the annual IFLA meeting. Complete applications must be submitted using CLIR's online application form by January 21, 2011. The award recipient will be notified by April 8, 2011.
Awarded to recent Ph.Ds who believe there are opportunities to develop meaningful linkages among disciplinary scholarship, libraries, archives, and evolving digital tools. Applications and all accompanying information must be submitted to CLIR's online application system no later than December 17, 2010, 11:59 P.M. EST.
Awarded annually to a student in the early stages of graduate school, who shows exceptional promise for leadership and technical achievement in information management.Complete applications must be submitted using CLIR's online application form by March 31, 2011.
The award recipient will be notified by May 27, 2011.
