CTA Project Coordinator, Operations Support

SALARY RANGE: $51,600 - $60,000

Position Summary
Coordinates a variety of projects in support of major CTA initiatives. Coordinates the efforts for the Chief Administrative Officer as they pertain to Chicago Transit Board matters. Ensures information to be presented to the CTA Board is received in a timely, uniform manner. Accountable for special projects as assigned by the President’s Office and Chief Administrative Officer.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Coordinates the agenda development and materials for Chicago Transit Board meetings, works with staff and outside presenters to refine materials and prepare for public presentations. Acts as a liaison between departments to develop Board materials. Coordinates the response to inquiries and requests for information from the Board.
  • Collects, analyzes and evaluates data gathered from various sources and synthesizes data into meaningful reports and presentations for review by the Chief Administrative Officer and the President’s Office.
  • Coordinates various projects and studies assigned by the President’s Office and Chief Administrative Officer. Acts as a as a liaison with various departments to aide in project completion. Reports on progress of projects and studies and identifies any obstacles or causes for delay.
  • Ensures documents prepared and submitted to the Board follow established procedures. Ensures documentation is submitted to the Board and Executive Staff in a timely manner.
  • Plans monthly Board rehearsal meetings. Sends out meeting times and notices. Ensures participants have presentations in advance for review.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


                                                           MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration or a course of study relating to this position, or an equivalent combination of training and experience relating to this position.
  • 3+ years of relevant work related experience relating to this position required.
  • Juris doctorate and previous experience as an attorney preferred.
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organization skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to assemble various pieces of information into a single format.
  • Prior experience dealing with an organization’s Board and submitting Board information, preferred.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships.
  • Must have superior interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential information and interactions.
