At the University of Chicago Office of Multicultural Student Affairs, we want students to have access to academic and cultural resources, but to also have opportunities independent of the classroom and student life. Thus, the following is a list of opportunities where students can go to search for funding, enrich their summers or find work after graduation.

Scholarships for Latina/o

ComEd is co-sponsoring two scholarships for Latino students who are Illinois residents. See below for more information about the two scholarships.

HACE (Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement) is pleased to announce its proud partnership with ComEd, an Exelon Company, to deliver scholarship awards that will assist Latino students to further their educational goals. As a result of ComEd's commitment to academic excellence and community service, 5 qualified recipients will be presented with a $2,500 scholarship check in October and will be recognized at HACE's Annual celebration in January 2010.

Scholarships will be awarded to qualifying Latino students attending a 4 year college or university and are Illinois residents with a 3.0 minimum grade point average and have documented community services. Funds available for students whose post-secondary studies include, or will include: Accounting, Business/Business Administration/Management, Chemistry, Communications, Computer Science. Engineering, Pre-Law, Math. Media Relations or Physics.

In partnership with ComEd, NLEI (National Latino Education Institute) announces the fifth round of the ComEd/NLEI Latino Scholarship Fund. Scholarships will be awarded to qualifying Latino students attending a 4-year college or university and are Illinois residents studying Math, Engineering, Communications & Media Relations, Chemistry, Physics, Liberal Arts, Law or Pre-Law, MBA or Business, Computer Science, or Accounting. The application is available online and the deadline for applications is 5:00 PM, Friday, September 25, 2009.
