At the University of Chicago Office of Multicultural Student Affairs, we want students to have access to academic and cultural resources, but to also have opportunities independent of the classroom and student life. Thus, the following is a list of opportunities where students can go to search for funding, enrich their summers or find work after graduation.

So, you want to be a teacher?

Then teach in a school where you can really make a difference. Where you can be the teacher that our children want. Expect. Need. Deserve.

Become an AUSL/NLU teacher.

Earn your master's degree from NLU, your Illinois teaching certificate, and get the preparation you need to teach in an AUSL-managed school through the Urban Teacher Residency program. You'll also earn $32,000 during your year of full-time training with a mentor teacher—and see what it really means to make the difference.

Already a teacher? Then isn't it time you join the ranks of those highly skilled educators who are transforming low-performing schools into schools of excellence in Chicago?

At AUSL and NLU, it’s all about teacher preparation. Because, if you really want to be a teacher, don’t you want to be the best teacher you can be?

Visit www.urbanteacher.org today to find out more.
Apply soon – the final deadline for applications is April 1, 2010.
