Amigas Latinas is Hiring!


JOB TITLE: Amigas Latinas Administrative Intern
REPORTS TO: Amigas Latinas Board of Directors

THE ORGANIZATION:
Founded in 1995, Amigas Latinas is a 501(C)(3) organization whose mission is to empower Latina women who love women by providing a safe environment, education, and advocacy to impact family, friends and the larger communities we live in.
Administrative Intern Position

The administrative intern works closely with the Amigas Latinas Board President and oversees and manages Amigas Latinas day-to-day administrative duties. The position will serve as the first contact for any inquiries/questions about Amigas Latinas.


Primary responsibilities include:
  • Oversee administrative duties of Amigas—check and process mail
  • Check voicemail, return calls and forward messages to appropriate board members
  • Intern will work with other community organization
  • Manage Amigas’ office at the Center on Halsted
  • Oversee projects as distributed by the Board President
  • Weekly communication with the Board President
  • Serve as primary contact for any Amigas inquiries
  • Work major Amigas events such as annual gala, Siempre Latina
  • Evening and weekend hours may be required
  • Update and maintain website [preferred]
Qualifications
  • Self-directed, highly motivated, reliable
  • Ability to multitask projects and meet deadlines
  • Organized, good writing and verbal skills
